ABOUT OUR DAIRY GOAT HERD

We started raising dairy goats at HighFields Farm in 2018.  We selected the Nigerian Dwarf breed based on several factors: their gregarious personalities, their small statue which makes them easy to handle even by children, and the high butterfat content and taste of their milk. And I can tell you, we have been very pleased with our decision to raise Nigerian Dwarf goats. They are a joy to be around, and the milk is fantastic!

All of our Nigerian Dwarf goats are purebred and registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA). Our herd comes from show and milking lines and our foundation does and bucks were all purchased from ADGA Production Plus breeders. The goats produced here at HighFields Farm carry our Elevation's herd name.

Our entire herd is health tested, and is negative for CAE, CL, and Johne's. Our most recent health testing of the herd was performed January 2024.

We are an ADGA Plus participant, which is a combination of performance programs including DHIR (milk test), Linear Appraisal (confirmation evaluations), and DNA Marker Testing.

All of our freshened does are placed on milk test (DHIA/DHIR).

Our herd was Linear Appraised in 2024.
